Yes, if you want to gain ranking points you must age up fairly quickly. As a rough estimate, 3000 battles in one of the top 3 ages is in the neighborhood of 10 million points. So it will take months of work in the lower ages to equal a single season of GBG in a higher age. If you want points, aging up to the final age is the best way to go. One way to see that is accumulated ranking points in the Guild lists. Some top Guilds have mostly billion plus point players, with no one below a hundred million. Then some with dozens of players ranging from a few million and many below fifty million. Only a few players at high points, Yet they are at the top of the chart. Best way is to gain reserve Forge Points (FPs) so you can buy a spot out. What that means is if there's a GB at 120/200 and only 1 person contributed the 120 points, you have to make sure that nobody can go past you if you want 2nd place.
